A Quick Guide to HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years. From ancient Egyptian times even through today, hypnotism has been used in religion, medicine, mental therapy, and even entertainment. Patients often undergo hypnosis to help release stress or to overcome certain challenges in their lives such as smoking habits, obesity, anorexia, bulimia, insomnia, depression, and other conditions.

Hypnotherapy is similar to psychotherapy except it is undertaken when the patient is in a state of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is meant to help modify the patient's behavior, attitude, and emotional state for positive life changes. Hypnotherapy is usually performed by a professional hypnotherapist. In many cases, the hypnotherapist will train the patient in self-hypnosis so the patient can benefit from hypnotherapy at any time when needed.

What Happens During Hypnosis?

Before the actual hypnosis begins, both the patient and the trained hypnotherapist agree to the process. Hypnosis cannot be forced on the patient. There will usually be an informal talk between the two with questions and answers as well as an explanation of what is about to take place.

Next is the actual hypnosis. The hypnotherapist leads with his or her voice to gently guide the patient into a state of relaxation in mind and body. The patient may appear to be asleep, but is awake enough to be aware of what's going on - especially in the parts of the mind that can effect beneficial changes. The patient is led into comforting, pleasant thoughts and begins to daydream about happy times or hopes for the future.

When under hypnosis, the patient often feels very relaxed. It's similar to the warm comfort of a bed when one is very sleepy. The patient can terminate the session at any time if he or she begins to feel uncomfortable. When the session ends, the patient is able to ask questions and discuss the experience of hypnosis.

Hypnosis Today

Today, there are many different ways people can enjoy the benefits of hypnotherapy. They don't even have to leave their homes to take advantage of hypnosis. There are Internet sites that offer guides and tips on hypnosis, along with hypnosis training for those who want to become a trained hypnotist.

For self-hypnosis, there are great products available online, such as hypnosis MP3s and hypnosis CDs. With these tools, a person is able to enjoy the long-term benefits of hypnosis without paying high costs to visit a trained hypnotherapist.

These products are very helpful when times of stress arise or when you just needs a boost of self-confidence. They are fast, easy, safe and effective tools to help you tackle common life situations. On hypnosis MP3s and hypnosis CDs, the messages are positive and subliminal, offering exact trance-inducing frequencies. The hypnosis MP3 files are downloadable onto an iPod or MP3 player so you can take it with you wherever they go.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are not cure-all solutions, but they can be helpful in renewing your positive outlook on life and learning to overcome obstacles.

HYPNOSIS - Does It Really Work?

The mental state of highway hypnosis can occur...

Hypnosis 101 - Can Hypnosis Bring in A Change In Your Life?

Hypnosis - A appealing yet misconceived topic for the majority of people. There are over and over again lots of misconceptions as to how the process actually works. How can we actually use this tool to build an unfeigned amendment in our lives? What makes it a viable healing tool?

If you think for a minute back to when you had your last setback or dilemma- what state was your mind in at the time? I can hazard a guess that it may have been racing, muddled or trapped. When our minds are in conflict it is complicated to see a new perspective and find a solution. In this panic state, we tend to forget that there is always a solution to any predicament, even though it can seem sorrowful at that moment. In spite of this, these daily dilemmas build up in our minds until we feel so much stress that even tiny things seem overwhelmingly insurmountable. When you adopt a relaxed state of mind, you are able to manage any problem with ease. No matter the challenge, you can face it rationally and systematically.

Over time we assemble imprints into our mind that have effects on our thoughts, routine, and choices we make. The result is chronic stress. Stress leads to poor, self-destructive habits... Continually making poor choices can lead to low self-esteem and loss of respect for ourselves. Who do we blame when things don't work out? The first target is frequently ourselves. We make ambitious plans for change only to beat ourselves up for not being perfect.

Hypnosis suspends the harsh judgments we make on ourselves. Under the state of hypnosis, we can begin to comprehend the patterns of our lives emerge from a detached position. Thus, enabling us to free ourselves from the grip of them.

How does the subconscious mind control and mould our every day lives?

The subconscious mind stores all of your past experiences, responses, everything that has ever happened to you, even if you do not have a conscious recollection of it. It is like a large storeroom of your past. It also reins our bodily functions: breathing, heart rate, digestion and body temperature.

Hypnosis takes us to a detached state of mind. In this state, the conscious mind can take a breather from the never-ending "noise" of our mind. The incessant jabber that goes on in our heads. Our brain waves transform into the alpha state. They slow down equivalent to when we are just about to fall asleep at night. At that time, we have permitted our body and mind to slow down. The mind reaches a heightened state of focus and clarity. Each person occurrence of the hypnotic process will be altered.

One issue that is for certain is that peoples expectation of the process is a major factor in creating an ideal space for change. The key is the persons' willingness and capacity to cede to something novel. Through the hypnotic process, there is an opportunity to study the deeper aspects of you and unlearn ingrained habits for a far more encouraging outcome.

A hypnotherapist acts as a catalyst for change but in essence, the transformation comes from within the client. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Hypnosis takes place where there is a move in the state of mind. This shift in the mental state brings the ultimate space for releasing of limiting thoughts. Despite there being much misconception and puzzlement about hypnosis, it can be a truly vigorous tool to create change in your life.

HYPNOSIS For Dealing With the Effects of DEPRESSION

Depression
Depression (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
A simple definition of depression is that it's a low mood that can stay with a person for a period of time. The length of time can depend on the person and the severity of their depression. I am of course talking about regular depression, and not about manic depression, as this is a much more complex issue. It's also important to point out that depression is a medical condition that can affect people to varying degrees of seriousness, and for that reason, I would recommend that anyone who suspects they are suffering from depression should make an appointment to see their family practitioner.

There are various treatments for depression including medication that can only be acquired through a doctor. But correct diagnosis is required and this is usually done using several factors, including a thorough review of the patient's medical history and such. This data also serves in determining the best course of action, the right medication, and most effective treatment. It may require ongoing monitoring and care over a period of time.

As hypnotherapists, when we see a patient in a one to one environment we can ask for details of the client's medical history, and even consult with their doctor. However, when I produce a recording, such as a CD or MP3 download, to help deal with the effects of depression, I haven't got access to these medical histories nor can I consult with a client's doctor for individual case specifics. For this reason, I strongly recommend our recordings that you see a doctor beforehand, particularly if you suffer from severe depression. I would expect another ethical hypnotherapist's to do the same.

What we can do with recordings, however, is help with the effects of depression. I believe that suggestion and relaxation can be useful and helpful to people suffering any type of disease or medical ailment. It isn't a cure or treatment for the disease itself, but more like a coping mechanism to help with the effects of the ailment in daily life. For that reason, there are many CD and MP3 downloads available which are intended to work in conjunction with other forms of treatment.

I believe that hypnotherapy can help deal with the effects of depression, but it is not a substitute for appropriate medical care. If you think you are suffering from depression, you should immediately seek appropriate medical care for the condition. In conjunction with that, you can seek hypnotherapy to help deal with how your depression affects your every-day life.

Frequently Asked Questions About SELF HYPNOSIS

doors of perception
Photo  by new 1lluminati
The number of people who want to learn more about self-hypnosis is constantly increasing and from my experience, I can tell that most of them are more interested in this than in hypnotherapy. This is why I am frequently asked a series of questions regarding this, the five most frequent of these being the following:

1. What is self-hypnosis useful for? - This work as a type of hypnosis mostly, the difference being that you are doing it to you yourself. Thus, self-hypnosis can help you change some of the traits of your personality you are not so satisfied with. This is done by changing the mindset for that particular personality characteristic.

For example, you can hypnotize yourself to become calmer if you are too short tempered. Most of the self-hypnosis results come from students who used it in order to improve their grades at school by better and easier absorbing the information taught and by increasing their concentration capacity. It can be used to get rid of daily aches as such and even to treat different types of addiction to some point, like smoking for instance.

2. Can I get better athletic results with self-hypnosis? - Well, it works only on your mind, not on your body. Thus, it cannot change the way your body is build up. However, what it can do is help you concentrate better during such an event and rid you of the eventual fear or shyness during the athletic competition. With self-hypnosis, you will gain more courage during the competition and thus your performance will be better.

3. Is self-hypnosis efficient in better knowing myself? - No doubt about this! Self-hypnosis deals with your subconscious, the place in your mind that can store things about yourself you were not aware of before. There you can even find out things you have been denying or even hiding from yourself, such as repressed feelings, motivations. Dealing with these can help you become a better person.

4. Does it take long to learn self-hypnosis? - No one can get to hypnotize themselves the first time. But you can get there if you practice it on a daily basis, which is the key to this technique. After three weeks you will see the results and you will find out that fighting for your goals has become easier. In the beginning, you will have to start with a half an hour practice a day, but the duration of the self-hypnosis session will decrease in time.

5. Does self-hypnosis practice render you more easily influenced in everyday life? - With time and practice, the sessions will become easier and more fruitful. This practice will only increase your response to hypnosis and not to the influence of others; thus your mind will be easily influenced only during self-hypnotism because your brain will be trained and used to such practice. You will be able to better distinguish and fight those trying to manipulate you in any way.

The Entertainment Side Of STAGE HYPNOSIS

stage-hypnosis
Photo  by abbasj812
There are basically two common aspects of hypnosis, the therapeutic approach and stage hypnosis, which is the entertainment side of hypnosis.

Although science may frown upon stage hypnosis for trying to make fun of the process for entertainment or for profit, it has, in some way helped, in easing public perception of what hypnosis is really all about.

As long as the stage hypnotist does not abuse the ability to explore the minds of his subjects, a practitioner who is responsible enough to respect and give justice to hypnosis can do more good than harm.

Many hypnotherapists believe that a lot of reputable stage hypnotists were responsible for conditioning the minds of people, of course not through actual hypnosis itself, to embrace hypnosis as a form of therapy or treatment for common behavioral problems of men like alcohol and substance addiction, especially smoking.

A lot of stage hypnosis acts commonly involve drunkards going through the stage act to emerge sober towards the end of the process, with some even undergoing altered states that will change their attitudes towards drinking.

Although the process of stage hypnosis itself is a bit disturbing at hindsight, the fact remains that the power of the mind can truly be harnessed.

The fact that some stage hypnosis entertainers continue to promote their trade is on the fact that stage hypnosis allows them to earn big bucks, still, people cannot judge them based on what they do.

As mentioned before, there are stage hypnosis entertainers who continue to give justice to the practice of hypnosis.

Whether it be for entertainment or therapy, stage hypnosis is as equally effective as it is used for therapy.

Many experts and stage hypnotists agree that training for entertainment needs no formal education required, as well as learning all of the applied techniques and approaches to stage hypnosis.

The same fact holds true for stage hypnosis, that 10% of the population are likely to submit to hypnosis since not everyone is susceptible to such.

Stage hypnosis allows an entertainer to be more creative and imaginative, the reason why it has continued to captivate audiences time and again.

A stage hypnotist must remain true to some commitments that need to be strictly adhered to, which is responsibility, accountability, integrity, honesty and respect confidentiality since a stage hypnotist will be responsible for exploring the mind of a subject.

A stage hypnotist must also never try to make fun of subjects during the stage act.

Although entertainment is key, it must never take advantage of a subject that is in a hypnotic state, since it is expected that the stage hypnotist should basically focus on the fact that the basic aim of stage hypnosis for entertainment is to exhibit the capabilities of hypnosis and what it can do to benefit humankind.

If one is interested to try out stage hypnosis, he or she must carefully consider the amount of responsibility that comes along with it and the initial approach is to study the basics of hypnotism, especially with all recommended techniques and processes.

This should then be followed by a great deal of practice, concentration, and experimentation, until such time the candidate is confident enough to perform in front of a group of people.

So try and make the most of the entertainment side of stage hypnosis and you can be on your way to having a great time with hypnosis.

Using HYPNOSIS To Get Mind Power

Mahasati Meditation Basic Rhythmic Movements
Mahasati Meditation Basic Rhythmic Movements
The 12 steps to acquire mind-power is intended to build positive visuals, acquire mind power and help you achieve your dreams and desires that may be as varied as improving your personality, increasing your wealth, attracting love and making yourself attractive.

Follow these steps I have specifically found to help anyone who is new to Power of Creative Visualization.

Step One: Choose a quiet place, which is free from all distraction, interruption or disturbance. This may even be inside a bus or in your own room. The idea is to be able to concentrate in an environment that you find is suitable. The idea is to be able to concentrate in an environment that you find is suitable. The ideal time, however, I have found to be is, early in the morning or before going to bed. The ideal place, however, may be anywhere as long as you can concentrate.

Step Two: Feel comfortable. Wear loose clothes or else loosen your belt and tie.

Step Three: Be comfortable. Keep your spine straight. Loosen your hands. Relax! This eases your body tension and helps your blood circulate efficiently.

Step Four: Close your eyes. That way your physical world does not interrupt you and you can concentrate on your mental world. But avoid quenching your eyes. Close them gently. In fact, once you focus on your images, you may find your eyes closing naturally.

Step Five: Breath normally. Let your body roll with the rhythm of your breathing. Listen to that rhythm.

Step Six: Now begin the process of visualization. Create the key images of the subject you have chosen. Form the shape. Add color. Build the sound. Sense them! Focus on them. See them as sharply and clearly as you can with your mind's eye.

Step Seven: Put yourself in the images you have created. You must be inside the picture so as to let your subconscious mind know that the image you see that leads to your goal is actually meant for you, and not for anyone else.

Step Eight: Feel the image you have created. Now that you are inside the picture imagine yourself to be leading

the time you see. Feel the environment. Watch how different it feels to lead a life that you had desired. Bring your images alive.

Step Nine: Experience the images with all your emotions. See! Hear! Smell! Feel how it feels to have achieved your goals. Let the excitement and happiness of success flow through you. Let the thrill of success building in you. Feel your success.

Step Ten: Once you have experienced your images with emotion, let your mind go blank. If you hold on to your images for too long, the images might disappear due to overexposure. So, let go of it.

Step Eleven: Create a space in your mind to receive what you desire. Say to yourself that what you desire - like, "I deserve to be healthy", "I deserve to be rich and famous." By doing this, you not only let your subconscious mind support the picture, you literally achieve your success.

Step Twelve: Feel creative while creating the images. I have given you the basic guidelines in the following pages to create visuals that will help you achieve your goals. You may change them accordingly to suit your needs. The more the images meet your specific needs, the more effective they will be.

These then are the twelve important steps to mind-power. Remember, it is better to visualize 2-3 times a day for a shorter duration than to visualize for a long stretch during the day. Doing this, the quality of visuals remain fresh instead of becoming stale and plaid and draining all energy out of you.

Steps one to ten might take you anything between 5-10 minutes. It is better if you do not prolong it. Instead, repeat it at another time of the day.

When you release the image after this brief exercise, your mind will become free of the mind-power you had activated. But your subconscious mind keeps on supporting the image you had seen. This helps your goal and your dreams to be a reality.

The twelve steps to Mind power that I have explained above is the most powerful tool in this world. When you switch on your mind power and extend it to creative visualization for turning your dreams into reality - then, that is exactly what will happen. Your dreams will become reality.

Remember, with your mind, you can rule the world.

HYPNOSIS Learning - Studying Under HYPNOSIS With Your Friend.

Flickr - …trialsanderrors - You dreamt you wer...
You dreamt you were a hypnotist (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
This article is fully devoted to the topic of studying under hypnosis with your friend. You don't need a professional hypnotist to take advantage of the benefits of learning in trance, just ask your buddy for some help.

If you have a friend that knows how to hypnotize or at least, knows how to read the hypnotic script, you are golden. You can ask him if he would like to try studying under hypnosis with you. Learning with someone you like outside trance, can be very distracting and won't do much good for your education, however studying under hypnosis has only advantages. Presence of the other person allows you to enter trance faster and makes learning more flexible.

The hypnotist is observing progress studying person is making and is able to modify speed at which the studying material is passed. He is also able to use different media to pass the information (word, image, etc.). It is best if only one person is hypnotized at one time, so if you are hypnotized your buddy should get hypnotized another day. Switching roles between hypnotist and student can result in various effects. First, the student may be exhausted after acquiring knowledge, and won't do doo good job as a hypnotist.

It is important that the books are easily accessible and located at your fingertips. Playing recorded study material has one significant drawback, a situation may occur, in which a student will not be able to keep up with the recording. This will result in him not memorizing a lot of information. If this situation occurs and you won't check how much information you've absorbed(an additional loss of time), it may lead to many uncomfortable situations, because you don't posses knowledge you should have.

The part solution to this issue, is playing information slower than the speed at which you are able to absorb it. But in this scenario, you will lose a lot of time on playback. However, this situation is better than the previous case.

The biggest issue with using pre-recorder learning material is, that capability to absorb information by a person in trance can differ from a day or even time of the day. It depends on so many factors that it is nearly impossible to predict it. That is why, it is so important that the other person should observe the way a hypnotized individual reacts and control the speed of learning.

Something you should always do before entering hypnosis and starting to learn is, motivate yourself by repeating positive affirmations like:

- I am glad that I will be taught.

- I find studying pleasurable and I easily absorb new knowledge.

- Learning is easy and fun.

- I will gain a lot of useful information today. I will know more than others.

- Thinking about studying makes me excited.

As you can see studying with your friend is a very complicated process. There is a lot to look out for and you and your friend should plan everything ahead, before putting anything into practice. This should allow you to achieve better results much faster.

HYPNOSIS Can Effectively Help Cure DIABETES

English: Overview of the most significant poss...
Overview of the most significant possible symptoms of diabetes. See Wikipedia: Diabetes#Signs_and_symptoms for references.  (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Diabetes is now considered to be a worldwide epidemic, which has serious after effects like blindness, kidney failure, impotence that in turn makes the illness out of control. A Hypnotist can definitely help a person with diabetes, as a Hypnotist is considered a stress management consultant and a motivational coach. However, a Hypnotist can only be a part of your diabetes support group and medical approval is required before enlisting yourself for any hypnosis program.

A person with diabetes will be feeling stressed and it may be difficult for him or her to follow the doctor’s advice. They may want to reach out for something which will make them feel better instantly, for instance for a type of food which may not be a good and healthy choice of food. The hypnotist helps in reducing harmful stress. This stress can affect a person’s power to make choices, which are beneficial to their health. If a persons stress levels increase their blood sugar also increases. The body releases chemicals called ‘insulin-antagonists’ which block the insulin and release stored sugar in the liver and muscles.

Parents of children with diabetes create stress both for the parents and for the child. The parents are tense looking after a sick child and the child is stressed because they cannot deal with the overwhelming problem like an adult. For Child Diabetes Management it is essential that expert care should be provided.

As many as 95% of the persons with diabetes have Type-2 Diabetes and they are obese. Regular exercise and diet management for Type-2 Diabetic patients leads to competing for system reduction. There is a need for exercise motivation and weight management. Generally, exercise gives you a sense of well-being and positive in outlook. A Hypnotist can help a person with diabetes to reduce stress and help them commit to making better food choices.

Another personal problem that most diabetes patients face which they feel embarrassed to admit to is impotence. These people and their partners are feeling stressed. They may take medication for this problem, which may be inappropriate and actually may cause damage. As many as 60% of the males face this problem.

A Hypnotist can counsel and train the patients how to manage their diabetes and live a healthy life. Even a small reduction in a diabetic patients sugar level reduces their chances of having complications. There are millions of people who have undiagnosed diabetes. A Hypnotist can be an important part of a Diabetics health care system and help cure diabetes to a certain extent.

Awaken your senses through SELF HYPNOSIS

English: Brain on hypnosis
Brain on hypnosis (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The modern world has brought people a lot of preoccupation. It made living faster yet complicated, it made interactions wider yet shorter, and it made communication easier yet brief. Despite the so many preoccupations brought by media created by people, there are also those who would want to get back to their original self and connect with it in the most basic possible means. One of these is self-hypnosis. Defined as a "process involving a hypnotist and a subject who agrees to be hypnotized," self-hypnosis is characterized by intense concentration, extreme relaxation, and high suggestibility to both parties.
Experts say that the self-hypnosis is versatile. In fact, its versatility can be quite unparalleled. Today, self-hypnosis can take place in various social settings and continue to change social settings dramatically. Unlike before where settings of self-hypnosis are quite limited, today the sessions between the hypnotist and the subject can take place in common places such as clinics, showrooms, classrooms, and even to open spaces and establishments.

Other experts use self-hypnosis in order to recover suppressed memories of people who have had bad experiences to help them overcome the problems that they are dealing with right now while other psychologists and hypnotherapists use hypnosis to discover hidden truths from a person's ordinary consciousness. This is done by tapping into the unconscious state or mind where information is believed to dwell.

GETTING INTO SELF HYPNOSIS

Many perceive that self-hypnosis as a trance-like altered state of a person's consciousness while others believe that it is a way of accessing a person's unconscious mind that is filled to suppressed memories, repressed multiple personalities, various magical insights, and unforgettable memories of the past life. But, in the world of psychology, self-hypnosis is considered as altered state and gateway to knowledge about one's self and the universe he or she is living in.

Today, self-hypnosis is not only used for treating various behavioral problems but also for self-enhancement and improvement. If you are planning to get into hypnosis or self-hypnosis, there are so many things you need to consider. Experts say that self-hypnosis is one of the excellent ways of taking control over one's life.  In fact, it can be used as means of disciplining yourself if you want to achieve a specific goal. For some people, self-hypnosis is advisable if you want to achieve something and utmost dedication and discipline is needed. Hypnosis introduction can benefit those who would want to lose or gain weight; those who want to boost their self-confidence; and those who would want to overcome their fears or phobias because it can help them contemplate a lot on the things that they need to do.

If you are planning to get a course on self-hypnosis, you can expect that it can teach you to reach your subconscious mind through bypassing your conscious mind as well as how to communicate with your subconscious mind, methods of creating your own hypnosis scripts and visualizations, how to design and use affirmations, the effects and use of symbols on the subconscious mind, how to understand which methods will be most effective for you personally, deepening your trance state and using visualizations, adapting to scripts to suit various problems, how to change your personal history and plan a more effective future and how to understand your dreams as well.

Develop Unlimited Creativity Through SELF-HYPNOSIS

Artistic and creative talent is not limited to select individuals - everyone has infinite creative potential. Though everyone has "the gift", few people naturally tap into their vast reservoir of creative energy naturally, without being "taught" how to do so.

If you want to increase your creativity, then you will be excited to learn that one of the leading hypnotherapists in the world today has focused his creative energy on helping you increase your creative energy. Steve G. Jones has dedicated his life to understanding how people learn and bringing them the tools to bring about positive change in their life. He is also one of the leading hypnotherapists in the world with impeccable credentials. And the reason he has chosen to focus on hypnosis as his primary tool to help people learn is that it can be used by anyone, nearly anywhere, with very little effort, for incredible results!

That's because our mind controls nearly every facet of our lives, whether we realize it or not. Though many of us have convinced ourselves that we are not talented or "creative", that is a fallacy. Everyone, including you, can be more creative, and hypnosis recordings are the easiest way ever discovered to tap into your creative energy.

Perhaps you have a project due for school, or work, or just a labor of love, such as a painting, book, or musical composition that you have undertaken, but for whatever reason, you seem to be stuck? Steve's new "Power Your Mind to Discover Unlimited Creativity" is a powerful new program created specifically by Steve to help you express your natural creativity.

It was recorded in Steve's state of the art recording facility built specifically to provide you with the highest quality, lowest cost, most effective self-hypnosis recordings ever developed specifically to improve creativity. Steve himself has increased his own creativity immensely through hypnosis, and he has created Mp3 recordings that you listen to at night before bed to help you unlock your dormant potential, or help you "unblock" the creativity that may naturally flow for you. Either way, the benefits are fully guaranteed, and his program is like no other.

Five Elements of SUBLIMINAL HYPNOSIS

Subliminal Reviews & Subliminal Software Feature Image

Subliminal hypnosis (sometimes called covert hypnosis) talks straight to our sub-conscious mind. Our subconscious mind is always listening. It perceives everything around us. Subliminal hypnosis techniques can also be used for self- hypnosis but that is not the focus of this article.

Subliminal hypnosis talks directly to our subconscious minds. Subliminal hypnosis makes use of certain techniques in order to have this conversation with our subconscious. These elements are
* Intimacy
* Emotional appeal
* A direct and simple style
* Using images
* Repetition
You can use these five elements of subliminal hypnosis to influence those around you.

Create intimacy
This is sometimes called creating rapport. By creating intimacy, you create a sense of connection and trust. How do you create intimacy? You can do it by asking questions. Or you can tell someone a story. You can also use quotations in order to create a perception of dialogue.

Why make an emotional appeal?
If you ask someone why they did something or bought a product they will nearly always give you a rational reason based on the benefits of the action or the product. But that is not the reason that they did it. The real reason someone does something or buys a product is that of the way it makes them feel.

Use a direct, simple style
If someone understands you, they are more likely to listen to you. What's the first step to persuading someone about anything? It's getting them to listen to you, right? By using short and easy to understand words and sentences you are more likely to hold someone's attention and convince them.

Use images
People do not think in words. We think in pictures. If I say the word apple to you, you see a picture of an apple in your mind. You do not list the words that could describe the apple you immediately see the image of the apple. It is the same when you talk to someone. For every word that you say their subconscious is flashing an image associated with that word across their minds without them being aware of it.
How do you use images? The most common way is by making use of similes and metaphors. If I say John is as brave as a lion you immediately form a mental image of a strong and brave man.

Repeat yourself
The more someone hears or reads something the more inclined they are to believe it. (Perhaps that is why rumors survive for so long?) It does not matter if they hear or read it in the same place. Each time a fact is repeated more weight is attached to it. The trick here is to describe the same thing in a different way.

Trisha Cornelius believes that your mind has the power to influence your reality and that there are various techniques that you can use to harness your mind power.

Basic methods for SELF-HYPNOSIS

Hipnosis
Photo  by Pdro (GF)
As defined, self-hypnosis--also called "autohypnosis"--refers to a form of hypnosis where self-induction is used. Here, the person who practices self-hypnosis uses "autosuggestion" or self-suggestion to be able to adjust or overcome certain conditions or situations. In most cases, self-hypnosis is used as a therapeutic supplement along with hypnotherapy.

Before getting into self-hypnosis the best way to go is to research about it thoroughly first. Through research, you can get extensive information about the practice and you will have a better understanding how it would benefit you the most. You can do your research by getting online and surf websites that offer information aligned with the practice. Because of the easy access to information today, you can get almost anything you need to know about it in an instant. In fact, with so many pieces of information about it, you might be overwhelmed. It would be better to be specific on the topics that you really would want to know about so you won't be wasting your time searching for seeming list of sites.

Aside from the Internet, you can also get information on various books as well as different magazines. Here, you can find interesting articles that can give you a better understanding of the practice especially on the methods that can be used according to the level of skills of the person.

If you are planning to conduct self-hypnosis at home, it is best to ask people who have been practicing it for the basic methods that you can use. If you personally know people who are doing self-hypnosis, it is best to get first-hand information from them. Although you can get it also from the practitioners outside, it is still better if you get the facts straight from the people that you know. By doing this, you can get the best tips and advice on how to start with the practice and carry on with it for your personal as well as spiritual growth. Once enough information has been gathered, one can now start with self-hypnosis.

Methods that are being used in self-hypnosis

Experts in this field say that for self-hypnosis to be successful, one should rely on the basic methods and learn them well. A considerable amount of knowledge on the basic methods will somehow help him or she is more familiar with the process and eventually be able to do it easier.

Today, most of the self-hypnosis methods and techniques that are used may include induction procedures, methods for communicating with the subconscious part of the person's mind and suggestion formulation and application. Here are two of the most commonly used methods for self-hypnosis:

1. Self Hypnosis induction script. This refers to the induction talk for people who will be practicing self-hypnosis. For many people, they can use this as a guide to thinking their way down. In many instances, this is being recorded and can only be listened to during the practice itself.

2. Autoquestioning. This refers to the set of methods and techniques that are used to get information right from the person's subconscious mind. Many people who practice self-hypnosis use its subset, ideomotor questioning the most because the information gathered here is primarily used for correcting suggestions to change as well as acceptance and confirming of the person's subconscious.

7 Important Rules For Self Hypnosis Scripts That Really Work

Self-hypnosis is an effective way to re-program your mind by communicating directly with the emotion-based subconscious mind. You can change your behavior and alter your deep-set beliefs and habits by making direct suggestions to your subconscious mind while under a state of hypnosis.

However, to make self-hypnosis (or hypnotizing others) work, you must communicate using the language of the emotion-based subconscious mind.

The 7 critical rules for writing self-hypnosis scripts that really work are presented below:

1. Always word your self-hypnosis scripts for positive change. Saying you will stop, lose, or not do something is negative; your mind first has to visualize doing something and then take the negative to comprehend this kind of commands. This means the mind first reinforces doing the undesired activity before it can interpret not doing it. Instead of saying you will lose weight, eat less, or stop eating sweets, say you will become lean, eat healthily, or increase your metabolism.

2. Repeat suggestions frequently to maximize effect but avoid clichés. Find multiple ways to reiterate the same concept several times throughout your self-hypnosis scripts.

3. Personalize suggestions to deal specifically with current goals. In your recorded self-hypnosis scripts, do not say "you are"; instead say "I am". To increase effectiveness, direct the subconscious mind to repeat your suggestions quietly to itself in the first person.

4. Use a detailed, progressive approach that flows along a logical growth path when creating your self-hypnosis scripts. For example, - I am steadily losing weight every day to reach my ideal weight of 115 pounds - is better than saying - I will lose weight. The first case presents a progressive suggestion with a time factor and an end goal as a target. The second case is negative and has no definitive goal. This is one of the most important rules for self-hypnosis scripts that really work.

5. Ensure all suggestions are simple, clear, & in the present or progressive tense. Never refer to past conditions, and use progressive case (i.e., using action verbs ending in -ing-; becoming, growing, & getting are a few goods examples) to bypass the critical conscious mind.

6. Use visualizations; make the subject see himself or herself after the change has occurred (or as the change is occurring). Also use words that engage emotions such as vibrant, sparkling, thrilling, wonderful, powerful, radiant, loving, generous, exciting, delightful, and beautiful. The more vivid and dramatic the image, the more effective it will be since visualizations are suggestions.

7. Direct the subject to reflect on the results of the change after your self-hypnosis scripts have finished making all the suggestions. You can direct the subject to reflect while still in a hypnotic trance or immediately after waking up. Either way, the subject should sit quietly and envision himself or herself after the change while the hypnotist says nothing.

All 7 of these rules are not required to succeed with hypnosis, and you may find most self-hypnosis scripts commercially available do not contain all these elements. However, if you follow all 7 rules in the scripts you write for yourself, you will see dramatically improved results from your self-hypnosis scripts.

Agoraphobia & Panic Attacks and HYPNOSIS & NLP

A twist in time

Agoraphobia is one of the most debilitating of all phobias. This comes from an irrational fear of unfamiliar or potentially uncomfortable situations and can escalate to the point where a sufferer only feels safe inside their home. If you suffer from agoraphobia, you don't need to let this condition rule your life. You can understand this phobia and find out how to beat it by using hypnosis therapy.

The word agoraphobia means "fear of the marketplace," but individuals may feel anxious in any location with a crowd. These places are often public areas or new locations away from home. Sufferers may be afraid of being in lines, shopping centers, airplanes, restaurants, or any scenario where they might not be completely safe.

Those with agoraphobia are scared of having panicky feelings or anxiety attacks in a situation where it would be hard or impossible for them to leave. Agoraphobics usually lead normal and happy lives in the places where they are comfortable, even entertaining guests and holding a job from the safety of their own homes. Unfortunately, the phobia can be so extreme that many times sufferers will only feel secure in extremely confined areas. A recent case revealed a woman whose anxiety was so severe that she didn't come out of her bathroom for years, causing damage to her own health as a result.

Agoraphobia often arises from other anxiety disorders and fears. For example, sufferers of social phobia often develop agoraphobia because they are nervous about having to socialize with others. It may also be caused by traumatic incidents such as having an accident far from home. Soldiers will frequently develop the phobia along with post-traumatic stress disorder. It can affect both women and men, although it is believed that agoraphobia is more common in women.

People suffering from agoraphobia might believe that they risk embarrassing themselves if they go out and experience a panic attack. It is often humiliating for a phobia sufferer to have symptoms such as trembling, sweating, or a nervous breakdown and lose their self-control.

Agoraphobia is often treated with anti-anxiety medication or counseling. It can be particularly challenging to treat because sufferers may have other anxiety disorders and underlying causes of their issues.

The reason why phobia sufferers cannot seem to handle their fears is that their feelings are based at the unconscious level. No amount of willpower or conscious effort is entirely effective to suppress a fear that stems from this level of the mind.

The techniques in Ericksonian hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) are effective on phobias because they work deep within the unconscious mind. Hypnosis is an ideal treatment option because it is non-invasive and safe, with no negative side effects.

There are Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP programs available on CD that are incredible because they can cure any phobia or even multiple phobias. It is not necessary to get a program that deals specifically with each different phobia. A good program will work with the thought process that triggers any phobia. This makes this sort of program ideal for many people with agoraphobia.

Additionally, a good multi-session program will provide a variety of techniques, which makes the program effective for virtually every user. With a step-by-step program, people can beat their phobias with relative ease.

The first step in the hypnosis phobia program is becoming calm and relaxed. As a form of therapy, hypnosis has long been used for stress-relief, letting even the most stressed-out people feel rested and relaxed. Once an individual feels calm and relaxed, NLP techniques eliminate a phobia by changing the single thought process that causes it.

Ericksonian hypnosis is a remarkable form of hypnotherapy that uses suggestions embedded in a conversation, story or metaphor to treat a phobia. Ericksonian hypnosis is more effective than conventional hypnosis because the unconscious mind finds it harder to resist suggestions that are not obvious, than direct suggestions. Instead of direct suggestions, which "tell" your unconscious what to do, suggestions that are found in interesting stories and metaphors will direct the unconscious into a positive, worry-free thought process.

People who are afraid to step outside the house can get their confidence and freedom by trying hypnotic techniques. A program with Ericksonian hypnosis techniques and NLP techniques is ideal for people who would like to beat their fears permanently. Hypnosis therapies offer a tremendous benefit for people with agoraphobia and other anxiety disorders.
