How to Attract Wealth With ARMANEN RUNE FA

ARMANEN RUNE FA

Remember to print out the large FA Rune on the page.

The Armanen Runes are keys to the Creative Energies of the Universe. Runes are symbols and therefore the most powerful tools available for you to use. There are three keys to the successful use of Armanen Runes.

(1)  Use only one rune at a time for your mediation, exercise, or rituals. Runes are like electronic Carrier waves. They carry more than one energy at a time within their symbolic matrix. For best results single out just ONE of the energies you wish to attract from the quantum ocean and into your life.

(2)  You must learn how to get the energies of the runes out of the quantum ocean and into your aura. What energies you carry in your aura attracts their physical counterpart into your life.

(3)  PATIENCE. The energies contained within the runic energy matrix will instantly appear at the periphery of your aura. There is no nor space in the quantum ocean, only the "here-now." So when you contact the runic energies in the quantum ocean they automatically appear near you. What stops them from automatically entering your aura are the false negative energy matrices you have built up. Your fear of success, love, or wrong health ideas is in your aura. You have unconsciously placed them there. They are like a solid brick wall stopping the runic energies from entering you. This is the most important fact that others don't tell you. You are stopping your own health, wealth, and love.

BUT, runic energies are very powerful and they will slowly and steadily breakthrough and dissolve the negative blockages from your aura. This is guaranteed. It is part of the Laws of Quantum Physics. All you need to do is be PATIENT and don't doubt.

The Laws of Quantum Physics tell us that everything that is, was, or ever will exist in an infinite ocean of intelligent energy called the Quantum Ocean. The runes exist there and have always existed there.

Guido Von List manifested the 18 rune Armanen Futhork out of the Quantum Ocean in the 20Th century. They are fresh and powerful and have not been polluted like the 24 rune futhork that has been popularized by so many want to be runemasters and magicians. Blume really put the final nail in the coffin of the 24 rune futhark with his BLANK RUNE. There is no such runic energy matrix in the quantum ocean that stands for NOTHING!

To get more information about the Armanen Runes surf the net and read about these three Armanen Rune Masters. Siegfried Adolf Kumer, Rudolf John Gorseleben and Guido Von List. Don't forget the most modern rune master, Karl Hans Welz.

You must learn to get the Rune FA into your aura to attract the money you desire. We are energy beings and what energies we carry in our auras attracts their physical counterparts into our life. Money energy in your aura = money in your pockets.

Learn to breathe in the runic energies. Take the rune symbol at the bottom of this page and hold it in front of you. Get quiet and take a deep breath while looking at the rune.

Mentally intone" "I am now breathing in the money attracting the energy of Rune FA out of the quantum ocean and into my aura." Do this three times. Then go about your business and give the runic energy time to work on your aura.

How long? One day? One week? One year? How many blockages do you have? Have thick is your wall? PATIENCE. Repeat this every day and reinforce it constantly without a doubt.

By looking at the FA rune and consciously breathing it in you are actually touching the rune FA money energy in the quantum ocean. You are thinking about it. What you think about you attract.

The money energy of the FA rune will be there at the edge of your aura awaiting entrance. It will work its way in. The money will be attracted to you. REPETITION AND PATIENCE!

Sex in GUIDED RELAXATION

English: A couple performing sexual intercours...

Amazingly, studies recently showed that those who are actively sexual could reduce stress. This does not mean running out and have sex with multiple partners, rather engage in intimate relationships with someone you trust. In recent studies, couples were asked to define how sex relieved stress. According to results, the couples claimed that sex relaxed the mind and body. The couples felt less stress after and during math tests and public speeches they were able to relax and stay alert.

According to the studies outlined by news, reports intercourse relaxed the body and mind. The studies showed that masturbation relieved stress to a degree more so than those who did not engage in such actions did. Still, those who had intercourse relieving stress more so than those who masturbated did. According to the studies, blood pressure quickly returned to its normal level after intercourse.

The studies showed that the men and women who did not have sex had higher blood pressure than those who did. Sex has proven to relieve stress. It makes sense. Men and women were intended to express intimacy in a life long relationship. For this reason, sex is involved which should be enjoyed at both party's convenience. Of course, both couples must enjoy the activity to relieve stress. Some people do not enjoy sex, which causes them stress to think of engaging in intimacy.

After sex, a person often feels relaxed. During the night, the person finds it easier to sleep. Morning sex is enjoyable, yet it can drain the energy, thus strenuous sex in the wake hours should be avoided. Enjoy mild, soft, and passionate sexual relations at this time.

Sex is relaxing. If you enjoy sex experts, tell us that engaging in this activity twice daily is great exercise and helps to relax the mind and body. If this is true then we have guided relaxation through intimacy. So why are people still searching for answers to relieve stress?

In the periodical that exposed that sex relieves stress, the authors mentioned that oxytocin when released could promote healthy functions, such as that of the physiology aspects. Oxytocin assists organisms. It is clear that when a person releases through organisms that tension expels from the body. The person feels a sense of relief. Still, what about the psychological aspects, i.e. what happens to the mind if a person engages in illicit sexual release. It is evident by past records that illicit sexual encounters only lead to disaster. We see this in disease, divorce, and so on. Thus, we see that engaging in sex requires that we uphold morals, standards, and values that make us humans.

To uphold the rules of humanity we see that stress can be relieved through intimacy. Intimacy is between a man and a woman. At what time the two join in intimacy they express love, affection, and desire for the other. If you noted love, affection, and desire you would see the positive influences that lead them to guided relaxation. When sex is relentless, or when love, affections, and intimacy is not involved, how can it relieve stress?

Logically you would see the tension build when emotions start to recall emptiness inside. For this reason, we must consider the aspects of sex that makes us feel relaxed. Those aspects again are love, affection, and a desire to love one another. When you have positive influences during sex, you have a guarantee that stress will relax. To learn more about sex and guided relaxation, women we encourage you to learn how sex can help you live longer.

The Beauty in REIKI HEALING

The Reiki Distance Healing symbol Honshazeshon...
The Reiki Distance Healing symbol Honshazeshonen also spelled Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen and abbreviated HSZSN.

In a stressed out world like what we have today, more and more people are opting for other treatments other than using medications to help them achieve a more stable level of thinking and emotions. This is because they have noticed that the more they depend on medication and treatments related to it, the more they feel weak, stressed out, and sick.

So, instead of suffering from the side effects of various medications, many people opt for a more traditional treatment such as Reiki healing.

Founded on the significant benefits of the human touch, Reiki healing is preferred by more and more people especially those who are suffering from terminal cases and illnesses-because it provides a more "human" approach to healing. Since it is more soothing and comforting that the number of apparatus that are used in various hospitals and medical centers, Reiki healing has become an option to people who are tired of relying on medical treatments.

What sets this alternative therapy from the modern form of healing today is the more "human" feel into it. Many people prefer this because it lessens the depression they feel brought the illness or emotional pains knowing that a person/people understand what are they going through.

How Reiki healing works

Reiki healing works through the use of the never-ending cycle of love energy in people. Reiki healing utilizes the innate life force energy flowing in each individual and converts it into a more productive energy force.

Transferred from one person to another, this life energy force can heal a person's emotional imbalance, heals the dying spirit, and calms the mind. If it cannot be channeled from one person to another during a Reiki class, an individual can also use it alone especially if there's a great need to boost a person's morale or spirit.

Reiki healing can be a perfect key in solving people's personal predicaments if only they give it a try. Unlike modern medications that can cost so much money along with numerous side effects, Reiki healing would not rob you off so much money especially if you have mastered it for yourself.

The only expenses you'll be needing to achieve the benefits of Reiki healing is the fee for enrolment in a Reiki class and references such as magazines and books for practicing Reiki.

For Reiki healing to work properly and effectively, a person must first be able to achieve a higher will. When a person has a high will, it can enable somebody to set aside his or her self-centered intentions. Once this is done, a person can experience a blissful encounter with his or herself and can share this wonderful feeling of healing and contentment with other people.

Reiki healing can also be more effective when a person can channel or transfer his or her energy to those people in need. Once a person can do this, he or she will be accredited to a higher level, which can enable him or her to achieve peacefulness, calmness, and optimism in life.

In Reiki healing, the life force energy is channeled or transferred from one person to another through attunement. Usually takes place in Reiki classes and supervised by a Reiki master, this transfer of life force energy is remotely done to ensure its success.

Aside from healing a person's spirit, Reiki also helps a person to balance his or her priorities in life to achieve a more relaxed and content life.

Basic ORIGAMI Folds Terms & Techniques

English: How to fold a paper fortune teller 12...

As with any other craft, origami has its own terms and techniques.  Here are some basic horizontal and vertical folds.  It is very important to keep all your folds crisp and clean.

The Book - fold a piece of paper (rectangular or square) down the middle vertically making certain the opposite edges line up one on top of the other.  For many origami figures, you will need to add another book figure - open the paper and make another fold across the middle horizontally again, making sure the edges lie one on top of the other.   If you don't open the book before making the second fold you end up with the handkerchief fold which gives you a small square with four layers of paper one on top of the other.

The Cupboard - using a square piece of paper make the book fold then open the paper and take each outside edge and fold it to the centerline.  By bringing each edge over to the next line you will end up making even more equal vertical stripes.

The Fan - with either a square or rectangular piece of paper fold a Cupboard.  Open the Cupboard; three valley folds (downward angles) divide the Cupboard into four equal-sized strips.  Turn the figure over; fold the edges onto the outer lines making two mountain folds.  Turn the figure over and refold the Cupboard.  Turn the Cupboard over once again and fold the edges into the middle line resulting in two mountain folds (upward angles). Fold up the figure and you have made an eightfold fan with alternating mountain and valley folds, also called an accordion fold.

The Lattice - make a Cupboard from a square piece of paper.  Open the Cupboard and repeat the procedure folding in a horizontal direction.  Open the paper and you have the Lattice.  It is 16 equal-sized squares used to make boxes, houses, and simple animal bodies.

The Shawl - Make a diagonal fold down the middle of a square piece of paper making sure your edges and corners lay on top of each other.   If you need a second diagonal fold open the sheet of paper completely before starting the second fold to get a more exact line.

The Envelope - using a square piece of paper make diagonal folds down the center in both directions.  Open the paper and bring each corner up to the middle.

The Picture Frame - First make the Envelope.  Open the envelope; turn each corner up to the outer diagonal line.  Now fold the four corners inward and you have a picture frame.

Heaven and Hell - Fold an Envelope.  Turn the Envelope over and fold each corner up into the center again.  Turn the figure over and you will see pockets on the other side.  Open these pockets.  This figure was dubbed Heaven and Hell because it was usually made on red and blue paper.  This particular fold can be used for making simple hand puppets and animal heads

How KARATE Can Help With MEDITATION

Français : Méditation avant le cours de karaté...
Meditation before the karate class

Although the ancient origins of karate are somewhat unclear to us, The one thing I can tell you is that about 1400 years ago, while teaching at the Shaolin Temple in China, Daruma Daishi used techniques that were similar to karate. Later these techniques developed into forms of karate known as Shaolin Boxing.

You need a clear mind to use Karate and meditating is the best way to clear your mind when you are in a sport such as a karate. In 1955 one of Master Funakoshi's last direct pupils cam to the United States and was the first person to teach karate in this country. That same year he put together the Southern California Karate Association, which has grown over several years to now become a national non-profit organization.

As I meditated I continued to learn more about karate. I learned in 1961, which happens to be my year of birth, Mr Caylor Adkins, One of Mr Ohshima's first black belts, began attending CSULB and soon formed the school's first karate club. In 1968 after being gone for a while he returned to CSULB along with a gentleman named Mr Don Depree. Mr Depree carried on the tradition and led the growing club until the year 1992, when he entrusted the leadership of the club to Mr Samir Abboud.

Still keeping my mind clear by meditating I learned that Mr Samir Abboud was a continuing student of Don Depree since the year of 1969. Samir was the CSUBL captain of the karate club and assistant instructor to Mr Don Depree for many years. Through meditation children and adults learn breathing techniques that help them concentrate on karate. When first starting karate you will want to start with the beginner's belt. The purpose of this level is orientation.

Students will be taught the general structure of the class, basic commands, the importance of self-defence and some basic combinations of self-defence moves. By concentration with meditation, the student will learn to be familiar with and to perform any of the moves on the curriculum sheet. The students also should be able to stand in a Chunbi position for 1minute without moving. Minimal proficiency will be required.

The practising time 5-10 minutes 3-4 times a week will be plenty for the beginners level. It will usually take 4-6 weeks to start your next belt. So whether you are a child or an adult learning karate for whatever reason, remember the key to karate is first using your breathing techniques and your meditation will help you to practice your breathing.

Meditation books are also very helpful if you are interested in learning more about meditation just go to your local library and check some of them out. Take time out to study meditation and you could be feeling much better real soon, which is something that most of us all want for ourselves. Good luck and remember that keeping a positive attitude can really make a difference in your stress levels. Please take time out for yourself for meditation.

A Basic Guide to AIKIDO

Wikipedia)
Aikido is a unique form of martial art. Its emphasis lies on the harmonious fusion of mind and body with the natural laws of Nature. Aikido focuses on accepting and respecting the energy of life and nature and channeling this harmony onto techniques that expresses this energy in physical forms.

Aikido is often viewed as more of a defensive martial art since its techniques and teachings are designed for you to avoid or get out of trouble. On the contrary, Aikido's techniques are very powerful and effective.

Basically, there are four levels of technique in Aikido training. These are the katai which refers to the basic training and is intended to build the foundation of body movements and breathing; the yawarakai trains the defendant to deflect attacks and fuse movements to take control of the attacker or situation; the ki-no-nagare which involves training the defendant to defend or counter attack by merging his movement with the attacker even before the latter makes contact; and the ki which is the absolute Aikido technique and involves establishing a link of ki or spirit from the defender to the attacker.

When training for Aikido, you need a sparring partner. The uke and the nage. The Uke is the initiator of the attack and receives the Aikido techniques, while the Nage is the defender and the one that neutralizes the attack.

Aikido basic techniques include ikky which involves control an attacker by placing one hand on the elbow and one on near the wrist giving an opportunity to throw the attacker to the ground; the niky which draws in the uke using a wristlock and twists the arm while applying painful nerve pressure; sanky which is a rotating technique aimed at applying a spiralling tension on the whole arm including the elbow and shoulder; yonky a shoulder control technique with both hands gripping the forearm; goky is another variant of ikky

wherein the hand gripping the wrist is inverted and is quite useful in weapon take-aways; shihnage or the four-direction throw; kotegaeshi or wrist return which involves a wristlock-throw that stretches the extensor digitorum; kokynage also known as breath throws or timing throws; iriminage or entering-body throws which resembles a "clothesline" technique; tenchinage or heaven-and-earth throw; koshinage or the Aikido's version of the hip throw; jinage or the shaped-like-'ten'-throw; and kaitennage or rotation throw wherein the nage sweeps the arm of the uke back until it locks the shoulder joint after which the nage applies forward pressure to throw the attacker.

These are just basic techniques and from the list, thousands of possible implementations or combinations can be drawn by the aikidokas. In Aikido, the strikes employed during the implementation of the Aikido technique are called atemi. For beginners, grabs are the first ones to be taught. It is safer and the aikidoka can easily feel the energy flowing from the uke to the nage.

Among the basic grab techniques are the katate-dori or single-hand-grab which involves using one hand to grab one wrist; morote-dori or both-hands-grab which uses both hands to grab one wrist; ryte-dori another both-hands-grab technique wherein both hands are used to grab both wrists; kata-dori or the shoulder-grab technique; and the mune-dori or chest-grab which involves grabbing the clothing of the chest of the attacker.

Mastering each technique involves discipline and dedication. To be a good aikodoka, one must master both the techniques and principle of martial art.

The History of FENG SHUI

Feng Shui is the art of placing and situating a structure so it is in harmony with nature. Also known as “Kanyu”, cultural and social issues are influenced by cosmological, metaphysical, and natural factors.

English: Zentao symbol as evolution of the Tao...

(Yin Yang) and the Five Elements of Feng Shui.
Wikipedia)
To use this ancient technique, you have to understand the influence of cosmology on earth. You should also have knowledge of how astronomy and astrology influence the placement of buildings. You also need to understand Confucian classic, the weathering process, the forces of nature, the magnetic fields, and how these all influence us. If you think about it, that is a lot to study.

The history of Feng Shui originated in the West Han dynasty around the third century BC. Those who practice it believe that the earth is alive with energy. If people built a structure on land that has revitalizing energy, then they would prosper. If this is placed in a site with bad energy, misfortune will occur.

Originally, Feng Shui was used to help place tombs for those who have died rather than for building homes for the living. Back then, they believed that choosing a good burial site will bring peace and prosperity to those who remained here on earth.

The instrument used to select the correct burial site was known as the “Lo Pan.” This invention was traced back to the Yellow Emperor where it is said that the “Lady of the Nine Heavens” gave him this knowledge.

This ancient compass was called the Hin Shi and is described as a square base called a diviner’s board, holding a bowl of water that floated a magnetic south-pointing spoon. The Hin Shi then developed into the “Lo Pan” and during the Sang Dynasty, this was used to navigate at sea. When this was brought to Europe somewhere during the 13th Century, this was better known as the compass which helped navigators explore the rest of the world.

But going back to Feng Shui, if the “Lo Pan” can be used to pick good burial sites, couldn’t it do the same for erecting buildings where people could live? The answer is yes and so this device was now used to analyze the orientations in a relationship to the main door, the bed and the stove.

Since then, both the rich and the poor incorporate this in their architecture. Archeological studies have shown that ancient Chinese city planners were made in concentric rectangles surrounded by walls that were then surrounded by lakes, hills, valleys, gardens, courtyards and parks which were to enhance positive energy.

As for buildings, these were constructed to enhance a healthy relationship between family members and the country.

This is where Yin and Yang come in which is considered to be the foundation of the universe. Coming from Taoism, these two are complete opposites that cannot exist without the other.

For them, the left side of the building must represent Yang or the male force while Yin or the female force is on the right.

Examples of Yang in the past included sunlit roofs, built areas and an elevation in the front. For Yin, there must be empty areas, shadowed eaves, set back structures and elevations in the back.

The history of Feng Shui was almost forgotten when the communists took over in 1949. If it wasn’t for the masters who practiced it and shipped it out to Hong Kong or China, we would have never known it existed. Feng Shui made its way to the US only in the 1970s. Various articles and shows have focused on it and people now use it to help in building a house or a building.

Making CHUNK CANDLES

Christmas Chunk Candle
Photo Flickr - Liz
Chunk candles add a great alternative to the standard pillar candle of yesterday. These colorful candles add a vibrancy and life to them. Looking at chunk candles, they appear to be very difficult to make. However, just the opposite is true. In fact, many candle makers claim they are easier to make than basic pillar candles. This is because pillar candles have to be perfectly smooth. If they aren’t, it is easy to see the visual defect. Such blemishes aren’t visible in chunk candles. While chunk candles aren’t recommended as a beginner project, they can be made once you know the basics of the candle making process.

There are two phases to making chunk candles. To make the process easier, it is recommended that you keep the two separate. Attempts to cut corners often result in chunk candles that are of poor quality and don’t burn well. The first phase of the project is making the chunks. The second is the process of turning those chunks into gorgeous candles. Some individuals choose to purchase pre-cut chunks at craft stores or online.

To make your candles their prettiest, select colors that compliment each other. To start making the color chunks, spray a cookie sheet with a non-stick cooking spray. You only want a thin film on the cooking sheet. After the wax you are using has completely melted, add color to it as well as any fragrance you want. Pour the mix onto the cookies sheet. Fill the sheet to the level you want the depth of your candle chunks to be.

Keep an eye on the cooling color chunks. Once it is the consistency of cookie dough you will want to use a sharp utility knife to cut it into chunks. Allow the chunks to continue cooling. If you are making several colors of chunks you can mix them together or leave them separate. Some people choose to let the colors mix together on their own while others like to create a design by adding the amount of each color they want.

Using the same molds that are used for pillar candles, insert your candle wick through the bottom of the candle mold. Fill the mold loosely with color chunks. You can put one color on the bottom with another color on top or even layers of three colors. You can also use only one color. The choice is all yours. Do not stack as many chunks as you can in the mold or the candle won’t form properly. Just toss them in and let them lay where they end up.

You are now ready to pour the melted wax over the color chunks. It is recommended that you do leave the melted wax colorless, but some people choose to add a light color to tint it and add a uniqueness to their chunk candles. As the candle cools, the chunks will adhere to together with the hot wax. Once the molds cool the chunk candles should slide out with ease.

Making chunk candles is really quite simple if you have the basic candle making concepts under your belt. These candles add flair to any décor as well as make great gifts. They are a bit more time consuming to make since you will be making your color chunks, but well worth the results. Remember that you can purchase color chunks to save you time. That is a great option for someone who plans to make large quantities of chunk candles.

For those who want to get even more creative, consider using embeds on the sides. You can place them in the candle molds first. They will stay in place once you put the chunks in the mold. You can adjust the embeds as needed prior to adding the hot wax to the mold. There are excellent books available on the various patterns and embeds you can add to make specific chunk candles. There are also great pictures and step by step instructions available on the internet.

A Quick Guide to HYPNOTHERAPY

English: Sascha Schneider, Hypnosis, 1904 Deut...

Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years. From ancient Egyptian times even through today, hypnotism has been used in religion, medicine, mental therapy, and even entertainment. Patients often undergo hypnosis to help release stress or to overcome certain challenges in their lives such as smoking habits, obesity, anorexia, bulimia, insomnia, depression, and other conditions.

Hypnotherapy is similar to psychotherapy except it is undertaken when the patient is in a state of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is meant to help modify the patient's behavior, attitude, and emotional state for positive life changes. Hypnotherapy is usually performed by a professional hypnotherapist. In many cases, the hypnotherapist will train the patient in self-hypnosis so the patient can benefit from hypnotherapy at any time when needed.

What Happens During Hypnosis?

Before the actual hypnosis begins, both the patient and the trained hypnotherapist agree to the process. Hypnosis cannot be forced on the patient. There will usually be an informal talk between the two with questions and answers as well as an explanation of what is about to take place.

Next is the actual hypnosis. The hypnotherapist leads with his or her voice to gently guide the patient into a state of relaxation in mind and body. The patient may appear to be asleep, but is awake enough to be aware of what's going on - especially in the parts of the mind that can effect beneficial changes. The patient is led into comforting, pleasant thoughts and begins to daydream about happy times or hopes for the future.

When under hypnosis, the patient often feels very relaxed. It's similar to the warm comfort of a bed when one is very sleepy. The patient can terminate the session at any time if he or she begins to feel uncomfortable. When the session ends, the patient is able to ask questions and discuss the experience of hypnosis.

Hypnosis Today

Today, there are many different ways people can enjoy the benefits of hypnotherapy. They don't even have to leave their homes to take advantage of hypnosis. There are Internet sites that offer guides and tips on hypnosis, along with hypnosis training for those who want to become a trained hypnotist.

For self-hypnosis, there are great products available online, such as hypnosis MP3s and hypnosis CDs. With these tools, a person is able to enjoy the long-term benefits of hypnosis without paying high costs to visit a trained hypnotherapist.

These products are very helpful when times of stress arise or when you just needs a boost of self-confidence. They are fast, easy, safe and effective tools to help you tackle common life situations. On hypnosis MP3s and hypnosis CDs, the messages are positive and subliminal, offering exact trance-inducing frequencies. The hypnosis MP3 files are downloadable onto an iPod or MP3 player so you can take it with you wherever they go.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are not cure-all solutions, but they can be helpful in renewing your positive outlook on life and learning to overcome obstacles.

Are ASTROLOGY and Healing of Ailments Interlinked?

English: Vedic astrologic chart in MalayalamVedic astrologic chart in Malayalam

We come across many references in the Indian ancient literature regarding the relationship between astrology and the probable timing of ailments. Prescriptions for treatment of disease were also done with the combined help of astrology and Ayurveda. Many classics proclaim that the expert medicine-men of the past were also expert astrologers.

At that time, the only system of medicine known to man was Ayurveda. There were some other systems akin to Ayurveda outside India also. All systems depended on plant and animal species, stones, and other materials for the preparation of medicine. The Allopathic and the homeopathic systems developed after a long time and both were aided by laboratory tests and research. The same degree of accuracy cannot be claimed for the diagnosis of a disease on the basis of the horoscope of an individual. However, a relationship exists between the timing of disease and planetary influences that a competent astrologer can find out from a  duly-cast horoscope.

The practitioners of Ayurveda in the past took help from astrology in these matters. Vedic astrology is unique as it advocates remedial measures in the form of propitiation of planets also in the event of the occurrence of a disease.

Many such matters have been discussed in detail by Dr. K.S. Charak in his book "Essentials of Medical Astrology". Dr. Charak is a practicing surgeon with an F.R.C.S degree from the U.K. He claims in his book that the knowledge of astrology becomes very useful for diagnosing and treating ailments and for finding out the probable timing of the occurrence of a disease.

Vedic astrology can help in the following manners.

Probable timing of the disease: An astrologer can time the onset of disease even before the occurrence of the disease by seeing the planetary combinations in the horoscope and by using the "dasa" system and the transit. This is the area of strength for an astrologer which a doctor may not be able to do. An astrologer can also predict the type of disease and the organs likely to be affected by the disease.

Diagnosis of disease: Astrological classics do point towards combinations that can cause specific illnesses as per the horoscope, but, this can be better done by a doctor. An astrologer can provide valuable inputs at times. However, the area of diagnosis is the strength of the medical practitioner. In this field, they seem to score over an astrologer.

The severity of disease: This area can be handled by both astrologers as well as doctors. Astrologers can understand the severity of the disease by judging the degree of the affliction of planets causing the ailments and by cross-checking the result with the ongoing "dasa" and prevalent transits.

Treatment: The medical remedies of today are far more superior and reliable compared to astrological remedies. However, astrology can help as a preventive tool. It makes an individual aware of the problems in advance so that he can take preventive steps. He can take steps for diluting the impact of the disease by resorting to methods prescribed by astrological classics. Such methods are sometimes very useful. Surgical operations are also not 100% successful and views of competent astrologers can be taken in such matters. Medical practitioners can be consulted after the onset of
the problem.

SCOTTISH SORCERY - Witchcraft in Scotland

Persecution of witches
Persecution of witches (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
When you think "witch", what comes to mind? A wart faced old woman in a black dress with a broom? Actually, all it took was a birthmark or freckle, or singing and dancing outside, or simply someone's accusation that could have you executed as a witch.

Although there have been stories of witchcraft since the beginning of time, persecutions didn't begin until the 1500s. The Witchcraft Act of 1563 made it illegal for anyone to be or consort with a witch. The first major persecution, the North Berwick Trials, began in 1590 with King James I and VI. Returning from Denmark with his new bride, a powerful tempest almost killed them. The King believed witchcraft was the cause of the storm and had nearly 100 people arrested. Many were tortured and burnt alive.

The Forfar Witch Hunt of 1661 and the Auldearn Trials of 1662 were prolonged by accusations made by "witches" in order to save themselves. At the Aberdeen Trials, 7 women were accused of using magic to murder others and using body parts from the victims to create potions. The Pittenween Trials of 1704 were based on the word of a 16-year-old boy. Each of the accused was tortured. One was even crushed to death under large stones. It was later discovered that the boy had made it all up.

The Renfrewshire Trials of 1695 began when 11-year-old Christian Shaw caught a housemaid drinking forbidden milk and threatened to tell her mother. The housemaid told the girl that the devil would take her to hell. Christian began having fits and visions, claiming that the maid was torturing her. She vomited up feathers, hay, wax, stones, even hot coal. There were accounts of her floating around the room and moving things without touching them. She also accused several others of witchcraft. Over 20 men, women, and children were imprisoned and examined by "witch prickers".

Several children and one minister were found dead on the morning of the trials. Fourteen of the charges were found not guilty. The remainder were hanged and burned. Christian was cured after the executions.

The Witchcraft Act was abandoned in 1736. It is estimated that over 4000 people were executed as witches in Scotland alone. Only 4 "witches" are recorded as being executed in Ireland, and only 3 in Wales. So for those of you with freckles or birthmarks (like myself), be thankful that things have changed!!

DIABETES, Glaucoma Put Millions At Risk for Unexpected Blindness

Unexpected sight loss is more common than you may think. Blindness often happens without prior warning signs and in people unaware they are at risk.

)
The two most common culprits of unexpected sight loss are diabetes and glaucoma. These diseases are known as the "sneak thieves of sight" because symptoms may not occur in the early stages. By the time a person realizes something is wrong, irreversible vision loss often occurs.

In fact, diabetic eye disease is the leading cause of blindness in adults. An average of 55 Americans go blind from the disease each day. The numbers threaten to rise sharply as diabetes becomes increasingly common due to poor eating habits, infrequent exercise and an ageing population. One in three children born in the United States five years ago is expected to become diabetic during their lives.

Diabetes causes a partial or complete loss of vision in as many as 70 per cents of those who have it. Yet 30 per cent of all people who have diabetes don't even know they have it. Even people who know they have diabetes downplay the risks they face.

According to a survey of diabetics sponsored by Lions Clubs International, 60 per cent were not worried about going blind or losing a limb. In reality, 74 per cent of diabetics will develop serious complications that could lead to loss of sight or a limb or kidney failure.

Glaucoma, on the other hand, is a group of eye diseases that slowly damage the fine nerves that connect the eye to the brain. For most people, this damage occurs when the pressure in the eye is too high. When these nerves are damaged, vision loss may result.

Glaucoma is the second-leading cause of blindness in the United States. But like diabetes, not enough people know about it: An estimated 4.2 million Americans have glaucoma but half are not aware of it.

Diabetes and glaucoma are especially prevalent among blacks and Hispanics. These groups are believed to have a genetic predisposition to the diseases and are much more at risk than Caucasians. Others, particularly at risk for glaucoma, are people over 60, those with a family history of glaucoma, diabetics and the very near-sighted.

The good news for those at risk is that a dilated eye exam can detect the two diseases and early treatment can prevent vision loss. Vision experts urge at-risk people to have regular eye exams.

Raising awareness of diabetic eye disease and glaucoma is key to preventing unnecessary blindness. Lions Clubs International works with Lions clubs, community groups and individuals to publicize the need for early detection and timely treatment of the two diseases. The Lions Eye Health Program provides materials for distribution at health fairs, senior citizen centres and similar gatherings. It also offers strategies for raising awareness of eye diseases.

AYURVEDA approach to Genital Herpes

Ayurveda approach to Genital Herpes

Dosha theory which helps in the diagnosis of the diseases

According to Ayurveda three doshas or three energetic forces control the activities of the body. These doshas are
1. Vata
2. Pitta
3. Kapha

VATA: The Vata dosha is the most important of the three doshas. It has been said in Ayurveda's classic books that “ pitta, Kapha and all other body tissues are considered lame without the assistance of VATA .” Vata dominates the lower part of the body, which is below the umbilicus. The movements of body fluid, metabolism, elimination of waste products, semen ejaculation, pushing the fetus out of the body, relaying stimulus to brain and response to organs and tissues, heartbeat, respiration, body movements, etc are assisted by VATA.

Vata dominated regions are intestines, lumbar region, ears, bones, and skin.

Vata gets vitiated due to following reasons.
1. Controlling natural urges like urination, defecation, hunger, thirst, etc.
2. Late nights.
3. Irregular food habits.
4. Talking in a high pitch.
5. Over physical and mental exertion.
6. Consumption of spicy, dry, bitter foods.
7. Exposure to severe dry and cold climate.

The opposites of the above-mentioned reason normalize the vitiated vata.

PITTA: The pitta dosha assists the body fire or Agni, which plays a major role in the body’s metabolic activities. The locations where pitta dominates are digestive system, skin, eyes, brain, and blood. Pitta maintains body temperature. The secretions like digestive juices pigments like melanin (bhrajaka pitta), hemoglobin (ranjaka pitta) are all types of pitta.

Pitta is dominant in regions of Umbilicus, stomach, sweat, lymph, blood, eyes, and skin.

PITTA   gets vitiated due to following reasons.
1. Excess consumption of spicy, sour, salty foods.
2. Consuming alcohol in excess.
3. Overexposure to a hot sunny climate.
4. Short temperedness.
5. Using dried vegetables.
6. Indigestion of food.

The opposites of the above-mentioned reason normalize the vitiated pitta.

KAPHA: Kapha provides bulk to body, lubrications, moistness, fertility, stability, strength, and memory. It helps in the binding process wherever necessary. This is the heaviest of all doshas.

Kapha dominated regions are chest, neck, head, stomach, body fat, nose, and tongue

Kapha gets vitiated due to following reasons.
1. Sleeping in the daytime.
2. Consuming sweets, chilled food, in excess.
3. Consuming fish, sesame, sugarcane, milk, and milk products.

The opposites of the above-mentioned reason normalize the vitiated kapha.

When these doshas are in the balanced condition the body remains healthy. If these doshas get imbalanced the body succumbs to diseases. Doshas get imbalanced frequently due to change in climate, seasons, lifestyles, diet, etc. The treatment is to bring back the doshas to normalcy and expel the toxin or ama produced during the imbalanced condition.

Causes of Genital Herpes
Herpes is caused by a virus the herpes simplex virus (HSV), which belongs to the same family of viruses that cause chickenpox. There are two types of herpes simplex viruses

1. Herpes simplex type 1 (HSV-1) and mostly causes oral herpes
2. Herpes simplex type 2 (HSV-2). And mostly causes genital herpes

However, both type-1 and type-2 can occur in the genitals, oral area, or both.
Due to unhealthy lifestyles and diet the delicate balance between doshas gets disturbed. This disturbs the body fire or Agni.

(Agni is the body fire, which is responsible for the transformation of one substance to another. It breaks down the food substances, eliminates toxins and wastes, maintains body temperature, and resists the invasion of microbes by maintaining strong body immunity.

The body fire, which is assisted by balanced doshas, digests the food completely to form Pakwa Anna rasa (the liquid form of food which is completely digested by digestive enzymes), which is ready to get absorbed by body tissues. According to Ayurveda Pakwa Anna Rasa nourishes the body and its components to keep the body devoid of diseases. But when body fire is impaired there will be an incomplete digestion of food forming Apakwa Rasa (indigested food). The indigested food fails to nourish the body components leading to lowered body resistance.)

The disturbed Agni fails to digest the food and toxins get accumulated in the body due to improper metabolism. Accumulation of toxins reduces the body immunity and paves the way for invasion by microbes.

When a person who has low immunity comes in contact with the HSV virus, he/she gets the genital or oral herpes.

Unhealthy lifestyle
1. Overeating
2. Sleeping in the afternoons.
3. Over physical exertion.
4. Over mental exertion
5. Consuming food frequently even when not hungry.
6. Constant exposure to hot sunny climates

Unhealthy diet
Excessive consumption of
1. Salty, sour, hot, spicy food.
2. Sour curds
3. Alcohol.
4. Cheese
5. Charred and overcooked food.
6. Sesame, Bengal gram, horse gram, sesame oil, rice flour, garlic, fish.

1. Curds, salt, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, sour fruits, meat, prawn, pork, should not be consumed with milk. The above-mentioned foods should not be consumed by mixing one item with another.
2. Sprouts, honey, and milk should not be consumed with meat and fish.
3. Fish  & milk: fish &sugarcane juice; jaggery & pork; honey & pork; milk & mango; banana & milk; are opposite foods.

The Transmission Of Genital Herpes
A person can get genital herpes in the following conditions

1. If he is sexually active and when he performs sex (oral or genital) with infected partners.
2. A person who has oral herpes transmits herpes to genital organs of a partner during oral sex and a person who has genital herpes transmits this to his partner during coitus when they have a genital contact.
3. The disease gets transmitted when the mucous membrane comes in contact with the infected area.
The disease gets transmitted mostly during the active phase. But it may spread even during asymptomatic  (when a person is free of symptoms for a particular duration) phase. The virus needs a fluid media for its transportation. The body fluids like saliva, semen, vaginal tract secretions, etc. Mucous membranes in the mouth, vagina, urethra, or open wounds facilitate the virus invasion due to their moistness.

In Genital herpes, there is an imbalance of all three doshas  (VATA, PITTA, KAPHA), which in turn vitiate lasika (lymph), blood (rakta), muscle (mamsa) and skin (twacha).

The imbalanced doshas vitiate skin and the immunity of skin cells is lowered. The virus attacks these weak cells and starts exhibiting symptoms on the affected area.

Local symptoms
1. Pricking sensation
2. Edema
3. Pain
4. Feeling of constriction
5. A sensation of ant creeping
6. Many small eruptions gathering in a small area.
7. These eruptions or blisters burst soon with exudates.
8. These blisters will have different colors according to the involvement of doshas.
(Blackish red or blue in vata, red, yellow, copper-colored in pitta, shades of white in kapha).

The weakened body immune system tries to resist the virus invasion but fails to achieve the goal. In this futile attempt the following systemic symptoms are exhibited.

Systemic symptoms

1. Fever
2. Weakness
3. Indigestion
4. Impaired bowels
5. Increased frequency of urination.
6. Body pain.
7. Increased thirst.

Imbalanced vata causes symptoms like pain, swelling, and body ache

The imbalanced pitta and vitiated blood and skin cause

1. Blisters,
2. Change the color of skin,
3. Cause burning sensation, and fever.

The imbalanced kapha and vitiated lymph cause itching, tingling sensation.

After the first attack, the virus moves from the skin through the nerve paths to base of the nerve and becomes inactive. Now herpes infected person will be devoid of all symptoms. But the imbalance of doshas still persists.

Reactivation of Virus to cause outbreaks
At unpredictable times, the virus becomes active. It multiplies and resurfaces on the skin by traveling through the nerve path and exhibits the symptoms locally. The severity of symptoms of the outbreak depends on the strength of body immunity.

The pelvis or shroni, nerves, and skin are dominated by vata. When vata gets vitiated due to precipitating factors, it reactivates the virus dormant in the base of the nerve end and the virus travels through nerve paths to reach the skin surface.

Precipitating Factors
As we know the outbreaks have few precipitating factors like

1. Excessive exposure to the sun.
2. Illness,
3. Poor diet,
4. Emotional stress
5. Physical stress,
6. Friction,
7. Steroids
8. Menstruation.
9. Emotional stress.
10. Genital trauma and intercourse.
11. Repeated infections such as a cold or pneumonia.

These factors increase vata and increased vata activates the virus, which is dormant.
Low Immunity The systemically imbalanced doshas interfere with body metabolism by vitiating the body fire (agni). This leads to indigestion and malassimilation of nutrients, which in turn causes poor immunity. Due to decreased immunity, the body fails to offer resistance to outbreaks.

Ayurveda Tips to avoid outbreaks

Avoid
1. Spicy, sour, fried, and junk food, which aggravates vata.
2. Precipitating factors.
3. Sleeping in the afternoon.
4. Meat products over fried or deep-fried in oil or fat.
5. Charred and overcooked food.
6. Consuming opposite food like fish and milk etc
7. Physical exertion after a meal
8. Taking bath immediately after exercise or heavy outdoor work.

Include honey, pomegranate, and fruits of Emblica Officinalis, legumes, dates, and raisins in your diet.
Practice Yoga and Meditation to control emotional disturbances
